Slot Thanks Klopp for Premier League Title
Liverpool’s Premier League triumph under new manager Arne Slot sparked an emotional tribute to former boss Jürgen Klopp. Slot Thanks Klopp for laying the groundwork that helped guide the Reds to their historic 20th top-flight title.

Liverpool Crowned Champions at Anfield
Arne Slot led Liverpool to a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, sealing a record-equalling 20th league title. In doing so, Slot became the first Dutch manager to win the Premier League — a remarkable achievement in his debut season.
Speaking to LFCTV immediately after the final whistle, Slot kept his message short but heartfelt:
“It feels incredible. More than anything, I want to express my gratitude to Jürgen Klopp.”
The 46-year-old even broke into a special version of a song Klopp had requested from supporters during his farewell, swapping his own name for Klopp’s in a touching tribute.

A Season Built on Klopp’s Legacy
Throughout Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, Slot remained in regular contact with Klopp.
“I’m almost certain there’s a message waiting from Jürgen on my phone,” Slot joked to BBC’s Match of the Day.
Reflecting on the journey, Slot praised the incredible foundation Klopp and former assistant Pep Lijnders had built:
“The culture, the work ethic, the quality — it was all there. I just had to help it flourish.”
Few had tipped Slot’s side to mount a serious title challenge so soon, especially with Manchester City stumbling for the first time in years.
“When we kicked off the season, finishing in the top four seemed the realistic goal. But these players proved they deserved much more,” Slot told Sky Sports.
Slot Thanks Klopp: A Night to Remember
Despite Tottenham taking a shock lead through Dominic Solanke, Slot never doubted Liverpool’s ability to turn the game around.
“From the moment we arrived, there was an energy you could feel. Even going 1-0 down, the fans and players believed we would do it,” he said.
He gave credit not only to his players but to the entire support staff and directors who contributed to the team’s success.
Slot Thanks Klopp again for the opportunity to inherit such a strong squad:
“The most important thing was the team Jürgen left behind — a team capable of becoming champions.”
Anfield Erupts for a Historic Victory
Unlike Liverpool’s 2020 title, which was won behind closed doors during the pandemic, this time the players celebrated with their fans in a packed Anfield.
Star forward Mohamed Salah summed up the night perfectly:
“It’s an unbelievable feeling. Last time we won it, it was during lockdown. This — celebrating with the fans — is something else entirely.”
Salah, who has had another incredible season with 28 goals and 18 assists, emphasized that this title felt even more special.
Leaders on and off the Pitch
Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s first non-British captain to lift a top-flight title, dedicated the victory to the global fanbase:
“We’ve fought so hard for this. This club is the most beautiful in the world.”

Meanwhile, Scottish left-back Andy Robertson highlighted the emotional difference between this win and the pandemic-era title:
“Nothing beats the feeling of winning with the fans. It’s simply unforgettable.”
Slot and Salah Already Eyeing More Silverware
With Salah signing a new two-year contract, and Slot confirming he’s eager to stay and defend the crown, Liverpool’s ambitions show no signs of slowing down.

“Winning it once is tough, defending it will be even harder,” Salah admitted.
Slot agreed but sounded optimistic:
“We’ll definitely try. But first, we deserve to enjoy this moment.”
